I have been researching sugar gliders for some time, and was wondering how important it is to have more than one. I'm apprehensive about buying more than one because of the cost. If I buy two cheaper ones, I'm worried that I might end-up with gliders who are sick or are do not like humans.
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks,
Jackie

It can possibly mean life or death for alone glider. It is very important to have 2 together. In some cases... many... gliders can self mutilate themselves form being so lonely. Then there are some gliders who do just fine on their own. I highly recommend getting 2 gliders. If you have money issues then i would have to say dont get any gliders. They are very expensive animals to maintain and feed. There are some glider owners who sell their gliders for cheap that are very healthy. You just have to watch and go with what breeder you feel confortable with. I wish you all the luck in what you decide.

Alot of people have just one glider. As long as you spend enough time with your glider then it will be fine. If you have just one glider then be sure to carry it around in a bonding pouch or in your bra all day and ALOT of playing with them at night. It seems that when you have two then they bond more to each other and not to you as much so if you want a glider all to your self then get just one. Good luck.

well i have three sugar gliders and when i had one she would cry, bark, and jump all around her cage at 2:00 am to 5:00am but i have given her so much atention she wanted another sugar glider so at the time she was to old to have another female so we got her a male and they got along great. But just a week ago she had a joey oop and they take care of it so great it is just so adorable. So you should probly get 2.

Thank you for the help. I think I will look for two females or a female and neutured male. I've heard that two males have a tough time getting along, so I'll steer clear from that.
All I can dream about is sugar gliders since meeting my cousin's... my boyfriend is so jealous... haha.
