ya i posted on this forum twice already about these cats ....they survived the 10-11 hour car ride ...quite well i might add :)( is proud of the good kittens) well we chose a boy and a gurl (boy to be nuetered soon and girl to be nuetered l8r i believe) well the bad part is i dont really know what litter (i saw the fast clump litter post on here so i know to avoid that kind now) and food they are 9 weeks (i know a lil early) and the mother was weaning them when we left i had them a couple times trying to suckle from my fingers so food advice would help too anything else i need to know about my kittens you think would be helpful is appreciated
there is a second problem less know how than the first.....see about half way through the trip ...my brother and i started to feel we made a mistake....... i still feel a lil like that....have any of you felt like you took on an animal you later felt you made a mistake? and was it still a mistake? please help me , please share a story or say sumthing to help would be appreciated too. thank you all so much :)

The female needs to be the most important to get spayed..
As for litter... I don't think clumping litter is bad.
As for food, kittens are weened at 4-5 weeks...so your kittens should be eating dry kitten food, and wet kitten food.. they don't need milk anymore.
What do you mean by a mistake? like you don't need the animla or something?

When my Cats had kittens, i used the same litter as the grown cats (just regular clumping litter), Feeding time, at first i gave them wet food, then mixed wet and dry together and weaned them onto dry food after that, just add smaller amounts of wet to the dry untill its all dry. Kitten will nurse as long as they are allowed, my cat's kitten's (we kept one from each of the first two litters, 3 litters all together) would continue to try and nurse untill he was 3 months old and momma would get annoyed and "yell" at him. (by the way, all of my cats are fixed now :) )
Your right, kittens are ALOT of responsibility, they must be fixed, or you will end up with kittens(while they are ADORABLE, they are a TON of work), you need to keep their litter box clean, and fresh water at all times, feed them twice a day (my cats always have food available to them). Just show your mom that you will take care of them completly and she will most likley let up on the rules some...she will fall in love with them just as much as you and your brother :)
Another thing, probably wont apply to you, but it does for me..if the cats become indoor/outdoor cats be sure to get them a "safety collar", with a few tugs (by the cat) it comes apart and prevents them from getting stuck on things and not being able to get free. My cats have gone threw quite a few of these.

I use clumping litter without any problems. When kittens are real young you should avoid it because they aren't very experienced using the litter box yet and they may injest some.
When picking a food, try to get the best that you can afford. Stay away from "grocery store brands" if you can help it (anything you can find in the grocery store or advertised on TV) These foods are often cut into fun little colorful shapes that make them look appealing to people, but they're made with crappy ingredients like corn or by-products. Some don't even contain meat!! Feeding a poor quality food can lead to health problems down the road. You should at least buy a food that lists a real meat as the first ingredient. Good quality canned is healthier than dry.
Getting a new pet can feel overwhelming sometimes, and you may feel like you're not ready for it. You're stepping into new territory, and that tends to make some people uncomfortable. Sometimes all you need is to get past the first learning hurdle and get to know your new pet a little bit and you'll start to feel better :) Give it some time and that feeling may just go away.
