kicking

hi
i have a thoroughbred. and we compete in eventing , and just recently he has started kicking at other horses in warm up, :mad: :( :confused: . he didnt do this last year, and it seems to be only when we are cantering to the right, but every one in a while he will do it to the left, does anyone have any tips as how to stop this:) :confused: :confused: :confused:

Its hard to solve a problem like this. I agree with fluffyrice - have a vet look him over to check that nothing physical is affecting his behaviour.

In the meantime is there anything you can do to warn other riders? In england people sometimes tie a red ribbon in their horse's tail at shows to tell everyone that it kicks and they should keep their distance.
