Some people have issues that need to be addressed by a prison psychiatrist.

Some people are sick. I've seen worse stories. One is a group of youth threw a cat off a 60ft building, over and over again. They even video taped it! Another was a women who put her cat into the washing machine and turned it on. It burned to death, it broke all it's claws trying to escape!

What I don't get is the boy who threw the cat off the building was banned for keeping animals for 5years. The women who burned her cat alive was jailed for 6weeks and that was it. Any animal abuse should get YEARS in prision and should never be allowed to have pets again. How does a judge decide which abuse is worse?!

"What I don't get is the boy who threw the cat off the building was banned for keeping animals for 5years."
Especially when it wasn't even his own cat he threw. There's still nothing stopping him from grabbing another cat passing by and throwing that off. >_< And that's part of the reason none of my pets are ever outside without supervision.
In cases of animal abuse, an eye for an eye should be applied, IMO.

I hate animals abusers and think they should be locked up and studied. I don't even like people to joke about it, as I don't think it's funny even a little bit. If someone doesn't like a type of animal, that's fine. But there is no need to torture it! I know I'm preaching to the chior, but I will never understand these monsters and just hate them!

When I was younger I watched some kids thros gasoline on a black cat and set it on fire, because it believed it was a curse. Then a few years later a few ex-friends of mine taped the tail of a cat to it's stomach and dropped it off a silo. Obviously they both died.
I don't think that animal abusers get enough of a punishment. I watch that Animal Precinct on Animal Planet all the time and those guys get a fine and a few months in jail. Then they are told not to own an animal again. Well how in the hell are they suspposed to know?? The cops won't know until someone reports them, and what are the chances that's going to happen.
Can I get an Amen!!! LOL

That's sad.
We have had a madman loose around here who has been killing people's dogs and cats.
Some people are seriously mentally disturbed.

ya, it's sad. (the article) if you kill an animal, you should be charged for murder...as a person killing a person.

This is really disturbing. I can't understand how anybody could do this to a life.
If we have these kind of youth today, and they are killing animals this horribly now... What will the do when the become older? Anyone who kills an animal should be locked up in jail for a LONG time because they obviously don't have a concious, and could be considered dangerous enough to kill a person! That's just my opinion.

If anyone is torturing or killing animals, they need serious help, if not several years behind bars.
Animal abuse should never be tolerated. If the abuser doesn't change his ways, then he deserves to rot in prison.
Remember, animal abuse often leads to child abuse, elderly abuse, and even as far as spouse abuse. These abusers often target weak and/or defenseless victims. We need to nip this behavior in the bud.
Personally, if someone intentionally kills a companion or endangered animal, they should be charged with murder and be sentence to at least 20 years in prison (if not for life). All life is sacred, even animals, and should be treated humanely (love and care) for as long as they live. Even animals that will end up on someone’s plate needs to be treated humanely and with the utmost respect.

PS: I would like to share a lesson I learned the hard way about why animal abuse is bad. You don’t have to read it if you don’t want to. I will warn you that I might get a bit graphic with it.
WARNING: FOLLOWING MAY BE TOO GRAPHIC FOR SOME PEOPLE!!!
When I was a kid, there was an older boy in the townhouse complex where I lived at the time. He would torture and kill small animals and got a kick out of it. And his torture knew no boundaries…he did everything imaginable and more to those animals…some things were just too graphic, even for an iron stomach. Years later, he put someone twice his size in the hospital after repeatedly hitting the person with a metal pipe. Last I heard, he was in jail.
Back then (as a kid), I didn't understand what he was doing. If I remember correctly, this was before I had pets. I saw what he was doing and he seemed to have a lot of fun. I don’t know why I thought what he was doing was fun, especially when I could hear the screams of the animals he tortured. But I thought if he was having fun, I would have some fun as well. Remember, I was only a kid. I remember putting a kitten in the freezer for a few minutes. And I threw another kitten around like a ball. But there was one act I did that changed me forever.
One of the kittens I was torturing, I put in a toaster oven. I remember thinking it was fun until I heard the kitten screaming for its life.
Suddenly it was not fun at all. I took the poor kitten out. It had major burns over its body and cried whenever I touched it. I cried and apologized over and over. I had done the worst thing imaginable to a defenseless kitten. I ran to the nearest vet. I didn't tell the vet the truth, only that I found it that way. Unfortunately, it had to be put down. I cried even more.
After that day, I was afraid to go anywhere near this older boy. Whenever I heard of an animal being abused, I would blame him. I made it known that he was not a nice person. I even tried to attack him once when I saw that he was torturing a nest of baby bird, but he was bigger than me and I ended up with a bruise.
I can't believe that I did what I did when I was young. And even though it was heartbreaking, I am grateful that the kitten taught me a great lesson that day. If I didn’t learn my lesson then, I probably never would’ve.

That's sad about the pit bulls,
as far as when you where young story....That's sad too....poor kitty.....
I remember when our neighbor cut off the whiskers of his cat and shaved and stuck duct tape to his feet....he gave it alcohol too because I remember seeing it run into walls and doors like he had no idea what was going on around him...then he let his dog chase it around. I felt sorry for the kitty :(
I was like 9?
Or the guy I called animal control on, (I ws 21) he was out in the front yard screaming at his dog and started punching it in his head. I screamed at him and told him to stop, then went in and called animal control.

My only regret is that the older boy did not get the help he needed. I blame his messed up family.
I am just glad that I learned from that bad experience and that most of my pets were treated like family.

Child animal abuse usually turns into human murder/torture. Alot of serial killers/murders here in the states use to torture and kill animals when they were children. Its a psychological issue and they do it because they like to be "in control" of a "lesser being".
