I just found out a few minutes ago, that i will probably never be able to buy my horse back. When we moved years ago, he went to a horse camp. The director said that when i could afford him, he would sell him to me. Well, the director retired, and the new one wont let anyone on the property. Im never going to get Kidder back now. I have been crying ever since i found out. I miss him so much already.
Here are a few pictures, just so you all can see how much of a great horse he was. He was so smart and clever. He used to break into the tack shop and drag the saddles out in the rain and eat them, he'd rip the windsheild wippers off cars and chase you with them, and he would play dead and lay down with saddle and everything on when he got tired.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but please don't give up hope just yet...
You could get in touch with the old director - maybe he would explain the situation to the new owner?
Or you could write the new owner a polite letter explaining how you feel about the horse and ask if they will reconsider selling him back to you.
Why is the new owner refusing to let on the property? Isn't he/ she running the place as a business anymore?

Ok, this is the whole story. The old director used to be a good friend of our family. He used to let us ride all the horses if we helped around in the barnyard. About 6 years ago, the old director hierd someone to help him feed and look after the horses since he was getting old. This new guy(who is now the director) hated us since we knew more than him even though we were WAY younger than he was. He thinks of himself as being all high and mighty.
So anyways, righ before the old director quit, he told my sisters friend to exersise one of HIS horses that were staying at the camp for the next while. When she went to excersise his horse, the new director told her that she wasn't aloud to come on the property anymore because this was now HIS camp and HIS rules were what mattered. He also forbid anyone of us to come on the camp anymore, and he wont sell me Kid since he knows that it will break my heart if i cant have him.
I promised him that i would come back and get him when i left. Any ever since the day he was born, i would tell him everyday how we would always be together. I just feel so crushed. I even offered him $2,000 for him (even though he isn't worth nearly that much) and he didn't even give me the time of day.

Yeah some yard owners get very high and mighty - I think it comes from being the king or queen of their own little empire. I completely sympathise.
Are you friends with the old owner? I still think it might be worth speaking to him.
Maybe it would be an idea to wait a little while and then try again, let things cool down a little and let some "water pass under the bridge" and then try again.

That might be a good idea. Im just scared that he'll sell him to someone else, knowing that i want him back. Hes an a** like that.
I still am friends with the old director, but he has absolutely no athority anymore, and the new director doesn't like him.

If someone did that to me I would file a lawsuit even thought I wouldnt win. I would get a millionar to drag it out till the guy lost all his money and had to sell the horse.
Why would the old director give up his athority like that, without even telling you?!? It sounds fishy to me.

Well, i knew he was going to be retiring soon, but his health suddenly got really bad, and the doctor ordered him to retire immediatly. It wasn't his fault, i know that and i dont blame him at all, i blame the guy who took over.
Thank you daddysgurl, he was a great horse and i miss him.
