My grandparents were talking to me about parrots because we were talking about all my animals and I was thinking about a bird. They said parrots need to be put in your will because they live to be 100+ years old and will outlive you. Is that true?

it is of some parrots.
if you are worried about it look more at parakeets? they have a lot of the parrot traits... in looks and character but are a lot smaller, cheaper and their life spans are shorter.
a budgie can live for up to 20 years,,, but i've only heard of it once... think 12 seems the average for mine and my families.
I've heard love birds live slightly longer than average budgies. so nearer 15 but could be up to 20.
bigger birds like ring necks average nearer the 15-20 mark....
whereas an african grey could outlive you.
But then YOU could live til a 110 in theroy... doesnt mean we all will tho... just a thought.

yes, many parrots can live to be 60-100 years easily. They are not a commitment to take lightly. Go to this site and check out the descriptions of the different types of parrots and see how long different types of birds live.... http://www.centralpets.com/pages/birds/parrots.html

Generally the larger the bird the longer the lifespan.. budgies can live to 20.. cockatiels 30 years.. my shelter commonly gets birds after their owners have passed away and I feel sorry for the poor things.. getting any bird is quite a long time commitment and really does need some thinking about where you will be in 20 years time!

I've heard up to 70 years, but not 100. Maybe a few cases once in a blue moon, but not common.

It's true many of the larger birds outlive thier owners. Especially if thier owners are older in age when they get them. It's always a good idea to provide for your all your animals (not just your birds) in your will. You never know what might happen, and you wouldnt want your pets to have no where to go or no one to care for them, once your no longer around.
