I am getting a hamster

It is my first hamster.I have some books out of the library and some info on the internet about hamsters.
But i want to know, which is better female or male.
I had mice and there was always the thing that females smelled less and didnt fight much.
Is it the same thing with hamsters or are males better.
If you have any tips for me i would really be happy.THANKS:angel6:

I picked a female because of the disproportionate testicles thing. That's just me, though. Female hamster pee is supposed to smell worse than males. And they go crazy about every four days when they go into heat- get so hyper they're hard to handle- but any hamster you get you will love, no matter waht sex or color or typw- go to the petstore, meet some, pick out the one that tugs at your heart!

Thanks for the tips. I got a male hamster named : Munchy.He is really sweet and grows a lot.And he is really curious, also he is really quick tame.Within a few days he wanted to get out of his cage and such.He eats everything what he gets in front of him.
He has a silver/gray/white fur.:angel2:

Thanks.He really loves bananas and other fruits and vegetables.And he loves cereals.Well he loves to eat and sleep and play...Really cool
