Hi Everyone!
okay so I went to my pet store and I saw the most adorable pair of female robo hamsters..I'm lovestruck..and I think I'm going to go buy them today! :p I'm so excited! Here is what I plan on doing today! To prepare..
1. I will have their food ready (my friend and I are going to spend most of the day picking out corn and sunflower seeds (?)..do i need to pick those out..or anything else?
2.I will have them in a bin cage with an igloo, two wheels, a big flat food dish, water bottle, and alot of toys!
3. I will let them each have a ball so that they can run around alot! Also chew sticks so there teeth stay trimmed! I also have a large playpen to handle them over just in case they jump of my hand..
Gah...I'm so excited..I love watching my other hamster hpe (syrain female)..and I can't wait to love these little critters!
They will both be female robos..and once they get settled I will have pics! Des anyone have any name suggestions? I want something that goes together like pb&J or something..ha ha but cuter than that! anyways if you have any more advice..on like what food brand is best, or on treats or anything..then any advice welcome! Thanks so much!

How about name one Cute and the other Cuddly! lol I love the show Charmed so I always said if I ever had 2 of something, I'd name one Piper and the other Leo!
Sounds to me like you've got a good plan. I'm sure someone more experienced could give you some suggestions.

are you keeping them together, hamsters prefer indipendance..atleast with my hammy.I just wouldn't want them to fight...even if they are related.

MizTwinkleToes, you have a Syrian hamster so yes, they need to be kept alone, but dwarf hamsters (Roborovskis, Campbells, Winter Whites) like to live in pairs, groups or colonies (same sex of course)
Yes, it sounds like you have got everything prepared. I hope that you have great fun with them. Make sure you sex them properly, don't rely on what the pet store says because they're well known for getting it totally wrong!
I hope they're still there tomorrow :)

Yup, sounds right to me. Instead of feeding seeds, you could feed lab blocks. :p Then you don't have to pick all the corn and stuff out. Can't wait for pics!

That's fine, MizTwinkleToes! Good advice on making sure their eyes and coat look healthy, too.

Sounds like you have everything prepared :) Good luck with the hammies ^_^
Instead of using a food dish you could just spread it around the cage, or even an egg box (cardboard) with some food in each little section, that way there shouldn't be any fights over the food dish.
Sounds great though :)

Yea I'd spread the food around the cage, just incase one of them is food aggressive towards to other, its how a lot of fights start.

Seeds and corn are not good for robos. I remember posting pics of my hammy and someone said corn and sunflower seeds are fatty and bad for the hamster.

Yes, just pick out the corn. Sunflower seeds are okay, and since there are two of them, they will only eat half of the sunflower seeds that are in the whole package. So it's fine to leave them in. Take out the corn though.

You are completely wrong  , robos are the hardest hamsters to look after, clean and take care of.
It's hard to look after them and make sure their healthy because of their fast speed most robo owners havent been able to tame their robos to stay still so they can do a health check on them. They are also very hard to clean as it's hard to get them out their cage due to their very fast speed, and give them out of cage time.

Mummy2HenrynTom, this can be the case, yes.. however it is possible to tame them, as many robo owners have good relationships with their hamsters.
They are extremely fast, yes, but it isn't impossible to hold them or get them from their cage.

i didn' say it was impossible i said it can be hard to hold them for a long period of time.

true, mummy2HenrynTom. But after a month or two of trying to pick him up for longer amounts of time, he or she will be fully comfortable. I am having a lot of good luck with my robo-dwarf, Stevie. I'm able to pick him up in the cage when he's running around in circles and he doesnt fight me anymore. I have had him so far 3 weeks and 3 days, and already something is happening! That could mean good luck for the other robo-dwarf owners!

After about a week having Stevie, my robo-dwarf, he grew a 1/4 inch (1.33 cm). If you cant get over how small he is, you might have to because before you know it he grows fast.
