I was in the petstore today and picked up a bag of Harry Hamster food. I saw it recommended a couple of times when surfing around here. Comparing it to the package of what I had been (and the store where I got her was) feeding her, it's much better. I was glad I could find it.
I also got her an itty-bitty igloo. I'm gonna have hubby build her a "loft" for her bin so she'll have a hide-out on both levels.
AND...I got a cool little wooden house that has lots of holes in it for her to climb around it. I'll probly use it as an "out-of-the-cage" toy b/c it's kind of tall.
I'm loving having my hammie! She's so fun! :)

Before I knew better, I used either harry hamster food or hazel hamster food (dang similar names). Really, lab blocks are the ideal hamster diet, since they can't pick out the stuff they like and leave the rest, they get all the nutrients in a handy little "block" shape. Mine get seeds for treats, which includes 2-3 sunflower seeds per day for the syrians, and one for the dwarf (since they're prone to diabetes).
Sounds like your little one is quite spoiled, though!

I don't add new food everyday. So far she's never messed in her bowl so I only add more every couple of days and don't fill it up but put enough in there. It kind of forces her to eat the good stuff too. lol

Lab blocks give them the nutrician that they need because with most hamster they pick thru there seed mix and eat what they like, but it basically it what you prefer. I use a seed mix myself and my hammies eat all of it.
