Hello. Just like anyone else on here, I love animals and want them in my future. I plan on opening a business when I am older- not right away, however. I have other career goals to go for first. I was thinking about opening a pet store eventually because then i get my business and my animals but i'm not sure. So i was wondering if anyone had any advise that has a business or something? I just pretty much want to know what the business is like and things you went through and all in all- your "process"- i guess. I just want to know if it is something I want to look towards so thanks.

I do not own a business, but I was in college for business....I can tell you this....it is not easy and will take a lot of effort, time and knowledge!

Yeah I know that. But my dad said that Pet Stores aren't good business unless you are lucky and you get the big selling ones. I just wanted to know if that is true & such.

I think it depends on your area and if you can have more of a specialty type shop but still carry a lot of basics then I think it would do well. Also I think that selling animals is unwise for a small pet store, since the profit on them is usually out weighed by the expense of their care.

Unless somehow you can team up with a vet...like merge with a vets office!!! That would be cool :)
Pet store w/a vet that is in business with you.....you could offer free vet care because you could be like a partner with the vet!

That would be cool but highly unlikely.
