She's a sweetie! Very cute and fluffy.
Just as a warning- her wheel is quite dangerous as her feet could get trapped between the rungs of the wheel. A solid one would be much better.

Very cute. I especially like that 3rd one with the yellow glow. It enhances the pic and makes it look really neat. :)

She's lovely but that wheel is horribly dangerous and hamsters should never be given hay. Hay can puncture the cheek pouches and cause severe abcesses. Also, what size of tank is that? IT does look terribly small. :/

*sigh* Picture angles, people!
10 gallon (and its BARELY crowded. This morning I thought to myself that she needed something extra.. so I put a toilet paper roll in there).
Timothy hay (People have suggested it as a treat on here, pet stores, and it even has a has a picture of a hamster on the bag).
She is very slow on the wheel, but I do plan on getting her a better one incase she wants to be speedy when I'm asleep.

She's cute.
I want to mention something to you that is very important ... just because a certain animal is depicted on the package does not mean that product is safe for them.
On the large run-about balls there is a guinea pig on the box, but I have 3 and know very well that they cannot run on wheels or in balls because it gives them severe spinal problems.

ahh okay.. so its like selling milk. anyone can drink it, but certain people shouldn't/can't. I've had so many people tell me Timothy Hay was a positive for ALL my small animals. this is the first time people have said not to do it.

It is acceptable for most, but hamster's pouches are sensitive because they have to stretch so far out.
I have seen plenty of packages with misleading illustrations on the cover. Cedar and Pine bedding have all kinds of small animals depicted on their covers even though they both can cause respiratory infections.
The best thing to do is find the best sites online and read until your brain hurts. The advice here is usually good, but test some things. We aren't right all the time. ^_^
Good luck with Peanut!
Also I have heard that Silent Spinners have come apart before but they work well for me and they really are pretty quiet so if your hamster is nocturnal like mine then getting one would be a good idea. The one that you would need is a medium and it's $10. My hamsters love 'em.

Someone in another thread said a lot of animals have broken their legs on the silent spinners.

I have heard of legs being caught. Like I said, it is within my own personal experience so I can't speak for anyone else. I've had my big one for well over a year and it's held up nice.
I have also heard the glow one is good. Can't recall who makes it. I think the Habitrail company does.

I have one similar to the glow one. I think it's made by Habitrail. I like it.
I gotta get me some Silent Spinners. I had to sleep in another room last night because of my dwarves on their wheels.
Seriously, last night I think Hamlet, Hugo and Casper were having a "Lets see who can annoy Mum the most" competition
:bored:

My mice were doing that last night with their wheel.. I woke up thinking the cage was going to tip over.

Anything with open spaces where tiny feet can get snapped off is a no-no. Just ask two of my dwarves who came from a pet store with those runged wheels like you're using and had their legs completely broken because of them.
Syrians need at LEAST 20 gallon tanks. 10 gallons is not large enough for a syrian. Without adequate room she is prone to wet tail by stress and her mental development will suffer because of it. You should look into a bigger tank or bin.
As for the hay there are pictures of hamsters on pine and cedar bedding here too despite it being toxic. Don't believe everything you see/read. :) Product companies have profit in mind, not the safety of your hamster.

I tried putting her in my 20 gallon when I had one, and she was freaking out.... she was doing everything she could to get out of there. She didn't like the 20 gallon at all. When I went to change her water/food bowl she would run TO attack my hand.. I'm not sure why, maybe she just wasn't used to that much room :(
I moved her back to the 10 gallon and she became her normal self again. What should I do about the room issue?

That's what happened to my old Syrian when I moved him into a much larger tank. He was freaking out. But if you leave her to get used to it, she should settle down and become accustomed to all that room. I'm sure she'd enjoy it more in the long run!

maybe if you tipped her old bedding into the bigger cage she would be calmer as it would smell like her cage... just a couple of minutes... but if she is really freaked and stressed by it i'd be reluctant to force the issue.... maybe make it into a bit of a play den with lots of treats and her favourite toys and things (and some smelly old bedding lol) and just let her play for half hour... then get longer every day...
As a quick fix could you weave cardboard into the wheel?

DUH! I should have put dirty bedding in there... I wasn't even thinking about that. I figured she would be happy to run around more. Instead she was climbing on her wheel & hanging from the water bottle hanger trying to get out.. biting the screen top and everything.

haha I stayed up late trying to cut millions of toilet paper rolls into perfect slices doing this :p

Lol yes.People have given great advice.
Carefresh is a better bedding to use to lay the floor with they love digging under it.Toliet paper best to use for them to cuddle up on at night as its the safest.
Yes and just because theres a pic of a hamster on the bag does not mean its alright and safe.No no they just wont the money.
And yes silent spinners are great they go so fast
my dwarfs have one each, they aint so loud but still i can hear them i wonna get better wheels for my robo's thou,i dont like the silent spinners my robos go so fast it flys them off or they go round with the wheel up side down it worries me so much, its because robo's are so small and fast the wheel goes really fast to.
I wonna get wheels esp for robo's dunno if they sell em.
Silent spinners would be fine for syrians as they are alot bigger than robo's robo's are the smallest out there tiny hehehe

I saw Peanut eating my pink carefresh and I freaked out and changed her back to aspen. She buries herself under the aspen very well, but the carefresh.... she just wanted to chew & eat on for some reason.

She wasnt eatting it, she was storing it in her cheek pouches to take to her nest.

No, she was eating it. Nibbling on the pink *puff* of carefresh & then swallowing. Right when I saw that happen I took her out, and changed it back to aspen, & called the emergency vet (when we got her there, they gave her an xray/ultrasound type of thing, then sent us home after giving her a laxative?? It made her use the bathroom a lot, but no real damage was done.)
I know the difference of her eating or stuffing items in her cheek pouches. I've watched her eat, & I've watched her store.. I've even had the amazment to watch her take stuff out and see the "EWWWW/WOW" figure of her cheek pouch flabs.

I've honestly never until now heard of a hammie eatting carefresh..

I have no idea why she tried nibbling on it.. Nothing in her food bowl is soft/of that texture. I guess she was curious as to why everything suddenly became soft & fluffy and wanted to find out by eating or a taste test lol.

She just wanted to know what it was and whether it was food. ^_^
At least you caught her!

The colored carefresh I bought at petsmart... they're long skinny bags & one bag filled a 20 gallon long tank just barely. Walmart has an off-brand of this colored bedding, but I haven't bought it & tested it out on myself yet.
