i found this really cool woden thing i made a few years ago and would make a great gerbil toy it is made of softwood is that safe?? and it has very very small nails holding it together is that safe?:confused:

As long as the nails arnt rusty i dont see i problem. Allthough i wouldnt put it in there cage myself as when they get to the pointy bit of the nail it could realy hurt them.

hmmm....thats what i thought maybe i could pry the nails out and glue it all together with non-toxic glue of course or i could just make my own new one all over again...does anyone know any good links for making ur own toys out of wood etc..?
