This is amazing!!!

Last night i found a very special way to communicate with my ww dwarf hamster. Note: It can only be done when she is fully alert but very calm. So, when i got her out of her cage to exercise a bit i did what i always do before i let her run: I hold her on my hand and gently massage the scruff of her back. She melts down with it!!! The thing that i did for the first time last night was that: I enclosed her firmly in my palm with her eyes facing me and her back legs sticking out. Then i got her very close to my face. As she was really calm she was just staring at me. So, sometimes i grunt my teeth without realising it. So i did, when she started grunting her teeth too!:eek: That was a surprise to me! She stopped as soos as i stopped and started again when i did!! :hyper: This was awesome!!! Then she wiggled her nose and i tryed to do it as well. After spending some minutes testing me and watching my behaviour she got the point and now nose wiggling and teeth purring is a game that we both know that we are playing! This is something that anyone could try playing with their hamster. And i just found out that they are smarter than we thing they are!!!

Instant grammar lesson: the right word for making noise with your teeth is "grunting" or "grinding"? Anyway, i hope that you understand what i mean!

So, tonight we revised last night's lesson. We did exactly the same as yesterday! Now this is an official "Stahti-Maria"(Stahti is my hammy and i an Maria) game that is called "do what i do"!!!! I'd be very interested to know if you can play this game with your furries!

Awwe...you guys may communicate in a different way than KOKKINIK and her hammie. It's all about the common ground.

I thing that it takes time! I think that SHE started playing with me. The truth is that since she got tamed i would take her in my hand and talk to her, and she would just stay and listen. Only for 2-3 seconds at first ofcourse! And then, when she felt comfortable enough with listening to me she thought that she could talk to me back in her way!And when she found out that i respond she found it all fun to do! Now i don't have to hold her to do it! When i take her out she will just walk on me and grint her teeth whenever i do it!:o So, guys, be patient and surely you will find a way to really communicate with your hammies!;) Although i thing that in my case my hammie found the way!! Just watch them carefully and you will find what to do! And be sure that your hammie is watching your behaviour too!!

Stevie... my rocky didnt like the clicky noise she kept looking around like she was worried so i think the clicky noise is a danger signal so poor lil stevie sitting there thinking whats wrong lol...

i found if i do a tutting/kiss noise rocky sort of puts her front paws on my nose like she's grabbing my nose and rubs her nose on mine... hammie kissing lol

maybe hold stevie up by your ear and listen to what noises he makes and copy them?
