were so upset right now one of the hamsters is sick, but she was lively and running around, and she was eating and drinking, acting just like her sister, so we thought she was ok , we didnt know . but this morning she looked ill, so we had to take her back to the store, and they made us refund her before they would even help us, theyre just greedy for money, they didnt even give a toss about the poor gal.

i hope she gets better and they treat her good and make her well, they said they would call if she gets better, but they wont even save her for us , and u can tell her sister hamster misses her , i pray she doesnt die and she gets better, and we manage to buy her before the bastards sell her to someone else.

im never shopping at any of this greedy chain petstores stores again, they dont give a <poop>, they just want your $$$ , i cant believe how cold they were, i only hope the baby gal lives, and we can bring her back home to her sister

were both sad and were both angry.

anyway what i want to know is, if he sister gets better, and i pray she does, the poor little thing, will we be able to reintroduce them, next week ( that was the estimate ) or would they have to live seperately from then on :( ?

man today sucks :(

Yeah I know what you mean. Pet stores don't do anything. Try privately owned pet shops.

If they are syrian hamster they must live alone. If they are dwarfs the chance is very good for a re-introduction.

I wouldn't have taken the poor dear back to the store. A vet was a better idea, whether or not a "refund" policy was valid.

Yeah, i agree! I thing that she needs a vet either way! But not all the pet stores are like this! Sometimes small ones are much more animal friendly! Anyway, the next time you will know better! You could choose a pet shop owned by a vet, if there is any near the place that you leave! This way you will know that the animals there are better treated medically!

i agree about the large petshops... i've had much better luck with p[rivate ones... although i did buy my hammie from a garden centre pet section... but again it was a one off place and bred there... you can actually see the babies with their moms.... soooooo cute lol

My first hammie came from a petshop that isnt so great... but i didnt know that then... now my rule of thumb is if i cant meet the parents i dont bring home. i'm sorry you had to find out about bad shops this way :(

I have to agree with the vet advice, that is where you should have taken your hammie girl.

If she does get better, then you can introduce them again. But when/if you get her back from the pet store I would still take her in for a check-up at the vet before putting her back in with her sister. It's not worth risking getting your other hamster ill.
