Hey,
My hammie has randomly decided that she wants to make her nest in her wheel. the wheel is seperate from the cage, like a tube leading to it. at night, when she tries to run in the wheel, she can't because she took bedding and food up there. i clean it out continuously so she can run, but she stills brings the bedding back up. is there any way i can get her to go back to her old "Sleeping area?"
Thanks so much. :)

not a clue... one of mine did it too... but he eventually stopped after about a month... i used to scoop him up in his sleep and pop him back in his bedroom... he would half wake up glare at me and grunt and snuggle down... i would empty wheel and day later was full again lol

Kai did it when we had part of his cage taken off for awhile; maybe you could get another tube like area? Now that we have him a circle-tube sleeping place he sleeps in there and just runs in his wheel.

Just get another area like suggested and hope he likes to nest there rather then his wheel.

There's really not much that you can do about this. My dwarf hamster did the same thing. She brought all her food in there and went potty in there too. Then she would try to run in the wheel and send all the bedding/food/poo shooting out of the cage. Made quite the mess. I was never able to find a way to stop her either.

hehehehe:p
You should leave her really, shes comftable there or she wouldnt be nesting there.
I think shes happy where she is,there shouldnt be a problem.
My baba use to nest in her wheel, and she had plenty of other places to do so,but thats the one place she loved since the day i brought the wheel she slept init from then on.
