Hey everyone,
does anyone know where i can buy a collapsable wire hamster fence thing? you know, with the bars so they can play in it? I have searched in my pet stores (Petsmart and Petco) and online, and can't seem to find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ;) Escpecially if you could tell me where you got yours! Thanks!
(Oh, and it's for a Syrian Hamster)

there you go.. just go to it, and there might be a pop up thing click skip in the top right corner and scroll down a little bit... you don't have to click anything else.. :D good luck with it!!

they arent very good, i had a playpen thing and a 7 week old syrian just lifted it up and crawled underneath it! the rest just thought it easier to climp over it...

Just to back up moosleys comments... totally useless... my baby syrians would stay in it til they were big enough to climb over the top or lift it up from the bottom... if you dont supervise closely they can be dangerous as i've seen babies drop them on themselves trying to escape. i know they look really cute but you are seriously better with a big box and lots of card borad tubes... cheaper too!
if you want to keep a syrian inside something it needs to be at least 10 inches high with NO purchase... else they will get out. i had a cute hamster castle too... they would tho themselves agaist wall and grab onto the top and scrabble!

I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents....I found the fence type thing to be good for my guinea pig. He wasn't real aggressive like hamsters...I can see it being a problem for hammies. Their main goal...escape! lol I would take my guinea pig Oliver outside and set him inside the fence (got 2 so I could sit in with him) and he'd chow down on grass and thought it was great to be out in the open where he could run around. :)
Also, I was thinking of getting one of those small plastic (not the blow-up kind) kiddie pools as a play area for my dwarf. I thought I could cover the bottom with some bedding, put in a few toys and he could run around in it. I think the sides would be too high for him to escape but I'll have to keep an eye on him anyway just in case. :)

The same thing happened with me and other friends who have hammies!

For future hamsters of yours, these play areas are good for dwarfs, i think... Especially robos.
