Died yesterday. Old age, he WAS 2 and 1/2 years old, but still, he was my favorite little guy, and my first. That brings my total small animal deaths this summer up to 4, poor Smudge who had an abcess, and two of my rattie boys had pnemonia and didn't respond to treatment.
This is so difficult, and I still manage to feel like it was my fault for some reason.
RIP sweet Zero. :( He was such a smart little guy, knew his name, and would (usually) come when called. He taught me a lot, and I remember how nervous I was when I first got him, he was the first hamster or any small animal I'd had for 8 years. I'd bring him a little piece of banana every morning, he LOVED them, and would be waiting for me. He was way more than just a pet, he was my little buddy.
