Im getting fish soon and after my sisters downhill misconception (however thats spelt) i really want them to be safe and i love the look of black moors but are they hard or easy to take care for?
also if any one know what gallons are compared to litres it would help alot coz live in "The land down under"(Australia) and i dont know how big gallons are so please help:confused:
They say you give your pet fish a "pinch" of food but how much does a "pinch" feed like does it feed one,two or three fish?
if you know the answers or maybe some helpfull ideas please let me know thanks!:)

4litres to a gallon
are you talking black moors as in the goldfish? from what i found they stay around 4 inches, so i'd say a 29 gallon tank would be okay? you do know how to cycle a tank right?
edit: by the way, a "pinch" means a few pellets or a few flakes :)

Black moors can get just as large as many of the other goldfish and can max out at 8-10 inches, with somewhere around 6" or 7" being a bit more common.
A 30 gal tank with be sufficent for a pair of Moors for a year or 2, but they will need something larger down the road.
With any goldfish, you also need to have extra filtration because they produce a lot of waste because of their large body mass. Filtration for a goldfish tank should be capable of filtering about 10x the amount of water in the tank per hour. (For example, for a 30gal tank, the filter(s) should have a flow rate of 300gph.)
You should definately "fishless cycle" the tank before adding fish.
If you cannot provide the right environment for goldfish, it would be better to stick with smaller tropical fish.

"i'd say a 29 gallon tank would be okay?"
Not for an adult fish.

I had a big black moore...just so you know, they are pretty much the best fish ever.:D
On the tank issue. I would say a 75 gallon for a pair would be good. I think its best to just get the perfect size tank at once, so you dont have to go out and get another.
Some people may think otherwise.
Tropical fish are just as nice.
