Hey there...I've got a problem and I am beginning to get very worried. Milton is 5 years old and usually a very excited, playful fish. Today however, he has been acting very weird ~ instead of swimming back and forth in his bowl (it's a very big bowl -don't worry http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif), he is sitting sluggishly and "mopily" on the bottom. I've got several ideas as to why, but I'm really not sure. I changed his water earlier today and am worried about water quality. Also, there were several pebble chips floating in the water that I'm worried he may have swallowed. Finally, his bowl movements have been off today, they are short and frequent. I've never seen this before. I love my Milton very much and don't want to see anything happen. Any help you can give me will be very very much appreciated. Thank you, Beth http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif

hello! your little Milton may be acting funny for all/none/some/one of thses reasons: 1. is there a new friend to his fish bowl?
2. is there a change in the environment (yes, fish can have stress due to surroundings)
3. old age (5 may not seem old to you, but in fishy years, it's time for milton to get a senior discount)
4. a change in diet
5. like you said, water quality.
check with a pet shop owner or even a vet to suggest possible solutions to your beloved's problem.
hope everything works out ok!
p.s.- my 5 year old fishy Darrin says hello to Milton!
