Recently my mum and I have noticed that our cat, lilly, hardly ever eats. At first we thought it was the cat food we give her so we bought a new brand which was good for older cats as it is much softer but she still isn't eating much. Can any of you give me any advice? BTW she is 17 nearly 18.

Take her to the vet! Thats all that you can do if she is not eating.

You could take her to the vet, or if your cat is eating dry food, try giving you canned food.

if a cat goes without eating for several days, it can lead to a condition called "fatty liver" which can be fatal.
You should take her to the vet for an exam and blood tests.
Has she been losing weight too?
Has she ever had her teeth cleaned?
If you are feeding her dry food, it could be that she has gum disease or a rotton tooth that is making it painful to eat.
It could also be that she is losing her sense of smell so she can't smell the food as well and its not as appetising.
Or, it could be a result of a more serious age related disease.
Take her to the vet, and in the meantime, try giving her some canned Fancy Feast. Its not a very high quality food, but most cats find it very tasty and its known for getting cats to eat.
Let us know what you find out.

Thankfully it was nothing serious. We are now feeding her wafer thin turkey or ham instead of tinned food. Thanks for all the advice!

I hope you don't plan on feeding her just ham or turkey. Sliced meat does not have nearly the right nutrients that your cat needs to be healthy. If you feed her a diet based on deli meat, she will develop serious diet related diseases that will make her miserable and could kill her.
Homemade diets are not something you should mess around with unless you have done some serious research and know exactly what you're doing.
Did she see a vet?

You need to take your cat to see a vet.. cats cannot survive on slices of turkey and ham (deli meat isn't even healthy for people) .. she will become very very sick.
