Tyson is currently happy in his dwarf sized digs, but I'm thinking of adding a Syrian to my mix and of course need a new cage.

What I was told when I was preparing for Tyson was that if a cage is said to be big enough for a Syrian, it'll only fit a dwarf. That turned out to be right with Ty's cage, but I digress.

What sort of cages do you house your Syrians in? The thing I'm looking at is maybe a bin cage. Any thoughts?

mines in a cage by fernplast and its basically a bin but with wires accross the top. 12 inches deep, 24 long and 18 wide. she loves it and it was called a dwarf colony cage and is apparently suitable for uop to 10 hamsters (as if!)

rocky loves it!

Bin cages are great, and cheap.. you can buy huge ones for much cheaper than commercial cages are sold for. Bins and tanks are good.

However, I've found all my Syrians much prefer the wire cages to the tanks and bins.. but that might just be mine!

You'll have a tricky time trying to find a wire cage that's a good enough size though.. so I'd go with a bin cage!

Mine are housed in rat cages (They can house 2 rats). But I have one Syrian in each. Lillian is in a critrertrail outlook cage since she is due any day now to have babies. But she will be moved back to the rat cage when they are old enough. And the babies will all be in bin cages.

One of my Syrians is in a rabbit starter kit (that isn't big enough for a rabbit) while the other is in a 40 gallon bin.
