Can Dwarf Hamsters Travel?

im adopting a dwarf hammie on Saturday..the 25th..but I may b moving to Saskatchewan..should I take my ham on the plane or in the car?? Will it affect him hugely emotionally, or physically or will he be okay??

Car. I don't even think that they allow hamsters on planes... I took Opie on a 7 hour car ride and he was absolutely fine.

I know you can fly on planes with them and I'm sure they would be fine but I have never done it. I have driven from Connecticut to Florida with 4 of my hamsters, 2 syrians and 2 dwarfs and they were all fine. It was about a 24 hr drive. I would say do whatever is convenient for you. Just as long as tehy have food and water they should be fine.

make sure they have more bedding than usual so if you have to take any sharp corners they are well padded.

Also, if driving, take out the water bottle.

depends on how far and how long you will be driving. If only for a short time..then yes cuz water bottles leak but if its a long time keep the water bottle with them and just keep checking on them to make sure they are fine.

i never travel with water bottles, not after one leaked and drenched my hammie. when i stop for a drink i pop it back in for animals or hold it for them to drink.

you can always put in veggies instead.

I'm not sure about flying. The altitude might affect them, but I honestly don't know. I think your best bet would be to drive. Good luck! :)
