We had two, Sanchez and Goldy Gonzalez, in the science lab at school. Sanchez died last Tuesday and since our teacher is moving schools she's got to give Gonzales away.

Everyone's fallen in love with them and so have I, so I'm interested on buying one. I have a 15 gallon mouse tank I won't be using anymore so he could go in that. Um, I've researched a lot today but I have some questions about food.

At school we fed them liver but I'm not one for handling organs! So, beef is good.. raw I believe! We use tweezers to give it to them, so is that okay, or do you use string or something? Does it matter if it's frozen? (Sorry for the ambush of questions but it's better to know than to be clueless I always say!) What about those axolotl pellets you find in pet stores, or goldfish pellets?
But since we have turns in feeding them I'm pretty sure I know how to, just dangle it in front of their nose.

The tank would have large gravel, half a terracotta pot, lots of plants and a filter. Sound cool? I'll probably get some big, leafy plants, some spikey purple ones (the names escape me, sorry!) and grass if I could find it.

THANKS!
