Hi,
A couple of days ago, I went to the petstore and bought a really fat black mollies so I could have babies. As soon as I got home I put her in my Aqua-culture breeder and waited and waited and waited and waited......Finally, after doing a 20% water change, she had her babies. About 30 of them. My question is: All of the babies seem to be floating on the bottom. She just had babies about 15 minutes ago so this is why i am writing this. Does anyone know how I can cheer these babies up. Acouple of the babies that came out seem to be retarted and some are like premature. Does anyone know what I should do with the mother that was just in labor. I have another tank, so would it be a good idea to put her in this tank.
Thanks for all of your time,
Mel

Congrats on your new babies. Don't worry about them hanging aroung the bottom of the tank they do this for protection. As for the mum you should leave her in to take care of the babies, remove her if you see her eating lots, but don't worry if she just eats some as this is natural for her, she could just be making the hatch a more managable size or killing the small ones which will die anyway. You will also need to buy some fry(baby fish) food. Good luck

My female just had her babies yesterday. she had them during the night so most of them were eaten by my other fish. but the ones rescued I put them in the breeders net they were lying on the bootom to because they were just born so they were real tired now the are swimming around by.
