If it is swollen take him to a vet for diagnosis and treatment.

I had a dwarf who's eyes literally protruded from her head, and were almost clear (her natural eye colour was red). Sorry to say, she turned out to have a brain tumor and died shortly after. I think a vet visit is in order.

What type of bedding are you using? Aspen or Carefresh are the recommended kinds to use. Pine and Cedar are BAD! If you have either pine or cedar, CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY! Your hamster might just be having an allergic reaction.

Only thing you can do is get her to a vet. Sadly, none of us are vets so we can't help you much.

vets again... although it might not be as serious as a tumour... could well be he's scratched it or got a bit of dust in when playing. if she has a cage mate could be a squabble. You could use a little salt water to bathe it if you can do without hammie getting stressed or too wet. that might temporarily ease any irritation... but it's basically a vets visit needed. Let us know how you and the little man get on x
