Uck, i have to do the same sort of thing for my mouse right now (she has a fungus on her back) The vet told us that we cant rinse her off or dry her or anything. I'd check with the vet on that first if I were you.

the best bit of advice i can give is to do it in a large room with good air circulation (that way it wont stink up the room too much) and keep her in a room that you arent going to be eating/sleeping in until she is dry. I also treat my mouse at night right before I go to bed, that way she is dry by the morning and we dont have to spend so much time around her when she smells so horrible.

Best of luck with the stuff, it smells so disgusting, but from what I heard it will get the job done no matter if it is fungus, lice, mites, etc. So far it seems to be working on my mouse, hopefully it will work on your little hamster!

if you don't rinse it off, doesnt your mouse lick it all off?

The vet said not to, and so far I havn't noticed her licking at it at all. I keep and eye on her after I treat her, she mostly just burrows in her bedding trying to rub the stuff off of her. Neither she nor her cagemate ever touched the stuff. I dont know about hamsters, but my mice cant stand it.

(I just treated her a couple of hours ago...she HATES me right now, I don't blame her, poor little thing.)
