the kitties are almost here!

Their plane will be landing in about an hour and a bit. I'm heading to a bus soon. I waited all afternoon for my mom to call and let me know how it went. She had some trouble setting up the carrier (the screws are really small she said) but she got it done. Everything is ready here. I've got their litter box set up with about 2 inches of litter. It's got a litter guard so that when they cover their poop the litter doesn't fly all over the place. I set up 2 seperate food dishes. A metal set in the kitchen and a plastic set in the entryway. It's probably going to take Cookie a day or two to warm up to us since I bet she'll be ticked as heck about being put in the carrier (mom said she got nipped hehe). In a few hours my kitties will be home and hopefully I'll get a zillion kitty kisses from my little man Peaches :D

I would suggest keeping them confined to one room until they get used to their surroundings. Sometimes having run of a new and unusual place can be a little too overwhelming.

They're here! Finally! Anyway, I wish I could confine them, but the entire layout is open. No doorways or anything except for the bedrooms and bathroom lol. There are half walls too, so they'd still be able to roam around. But the good news is that Peaches has already greeted the girls, and right now Cookie is sitting near the litter box hiding. I've blocked the girls from getting to them though using a baby gate and a fold up shopping cart. lol. I'm so happy my kitties are home! :D

the girls have been having a blast playing with Peaches. Summer (my oldest) helped me brush him and then I let her brush him alone (have a rubber massaging brush). Cookie's been in and out of hiding all day, but she's always been shy, so the fact we even saw her today is a good sign. She gave some kitty kisses to my hubby and she laid on my feet at my computer and groomed them (yeah, don't ask, she's weird :D).

haha I definitely am. As soon as I got to the right cargo building (there are 3) and I saw them in the carrier, I cried. :o It took forever to get a damned cab, but I finally got through to one company (only waited 5-10 mins after calling in). Cookie's been exploring some more today. Right now she's behind our tv relaxing, but it's a good sign. When we first got her 10 years ago, she hid for days.

I really doubt the cats would ever bring out theirs claws towards me kids. Cookie just gets up and finds a different spot, Peaches will lay there and purr like an idiot when he gets attention (of any kind).

thanks! I can't believe how much I missed them until they finally got here. It's almost like we were never seperated. Cookie finally came out of her shell a little and she sat on the couch while I fed my littlest one. When my oldest was a baby, whenever she'd cry, Cookie would come meowing and give me and my hubby dirty looks until we calmed our daughter down. Apparently lil Momma Kitty is back in full swing. :)

Yep, it is. Westjet is the airline I use when I fly anyway and flying was always a good experience. The cargo place for Westjet though isn't anywhere near the airport exactly. It's across from the Westjet hanger (quite a far walk from the airport).

Right now, Cookie is having a staring contest with something (no idea what) but every now and then she meows a bit and her tail twitches. Such a crazy kitty. :D I couldn't find her all day yesterday, was almost worried to tears. I went out last night, and around 9:45ish my hubby called to tell me she'd been under the writing desk (which sits ON the floor and I have no idea how she got under it when my hamster had trouble getting under it. :confused:

Anyway, it definitely feels like home with them back :D
