He hasn't crossed the bridge yet but my sweet little blue mottled Campbell, Waylon, is on his way. I just checked on the boys and found him huddled by one of their houses, on his side breathing heavily. Merle is laying next to him and Willie is running frantic.

He does not seem to be in any pain and it looks like it is another stroke, his third. He is at least 2 years old and I know a vet is pointless right now and would only stress him out more in his final hours. I've left him with his friends to pass peacefully.

Oh...that;s so sad = ' ( I'd hold him if I were you...just to spend your last few hours with him. Give the poor thing a kiss for me = ' (

Oh, that is so sad! I hope he leaves for the rainbow bridge peacefully! He is so lucky to have such a nice home!

Well, as of this morning he's still with me. He actually seems more alert now, drinking some soy milk, looking up every now and then, wobbling back and forth across the cage. He's sleeping with Merle and Willie this morning. I'm going to keep an eye on him and if he seems to be in pain I'll be opting for euthanasia. It was definitely another stroke. As of now though I'm letting him be with his brothers.

Thanks so much everyone.

He's such a little fighter. I hope for the best, whatever that may be. I know you'll do the right thing for your sweet little man.

Sending my love to you and him.. good luck! :goodvibes:

Thanks so much everyone.

I don't think he'll come out of it. I also think Merle doesn't want to live without his buddy. Him and Waylon have always been best buddies with Willie being more of a lone ham. Merle is at least 2.5 years old and I've noticed he hasn't left Waylon and seems to be going downhill as well. I have a feeling both of my old boys will go together.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Little Waylon lost his battle this morning. He was looking quite ill when I left for the barn and was gone when I came back. However Merle seems to have made a complete 180 degree turn for the better. I have a feeling he was dehydrated from not eating or drinking while staying with Waylon. I put him on babyfood and Pedialyte last night and he has certainly come around.

RIP my little blue mottled outlaw.
