New Hamster?

What should do with my New Hamster First?

You could build a play area out of a long cardboard box & fill it tubes and other things like that, then you just let the hamster run free. My previous 3 hamsters have all loved the play area idea :hamster2:

Feed them him/her treats! it's a great way to gain their trust. especially if you stick it in a pocket so hammie can rummage around looking.

you should give your new hammie at least 24 hours to get used to her new home before doing anything with her. then you can do the other things, but be very slow, gentle, and careful, to gain her trust. She'll love treats!

Let her get used to her surroundings for a few days. Then start to offer her more treats, and try to pick her up.

Clean out the cage every week, make sure the bedding is either aspen or carefresh, and take pics! :D
