Watch out for uncoated wire cage (like the fist one), they soak up rat urine and can stink to high heavens in no time. Definitely go with powder coated wire if you can, or at least PVC coated wire cages. The 2nd cage is nice sized and some people love them for their rats, but unless you have full grown males the wire spacing on that cage is 1in and females and young rats would squeeze right out. Some people don't like it cuz they say the solid plastic shelves stink, but others say it's easy enough to just wipe them down everyday.

yeah actually i have an uncoated one now and thats probably why it smells so bad. the whole room smells when you walk in, its horrible.i thought it only smelled because there were so many rats in one cage. the thing on ebay is confusing because i dont know what the price is or how to bid. i saw one at petsmart i liked and it had black wiring so hopefully thats coated. thanks for the help.

yeah, ebay is confusing, it took me forever to figure out how it works, I asked a whole bunch of question from MagnoliaFly and the first seller, I bid on a new riding helmet which cost $100 at the store, but I got it for $50, and its the best, since that I bought like 5 more things, and love them all!!! I got a cage for my bird, which is $80 at the petsmart, I got it from Ebay for $20, with perches and cups.
First u have to have set up an account, go register there, u also need a credit card for that, theres a thing called Paypal, thats how u pay with credit card, but u dont have to, I just registered with my dads credit card, but i buy everything by personal check, it takes longer to deliver but I feel more secure with it. There are also other forms of payment, specified by seller. For more info go to "help" at the top of the page, ussually they explain everything, ask seller any questions before u bid. Where it says "my ebay" u sign in, and u need to put all the info in blank spots, where it says "accounts" i think I only put my adress, name, phone. etc, for the seller. when u see an item u like, make sure its good quality, and know for sure thats what u want, because if u bid on it, u cant return back. another important detail, when u bid on something, ussually there will be another person trying to outbid u, so u have to watch closely for time when auction ends, so u wont miss it. and dont get caught in the thrill of bidding, like the helmet I got, the bid started at $20, but some other person was trying to outbid me, so i kept bidding and bidding until it got to $50, where I was like "oops thats too much". but I still got a good deal on it, just make sure u dont go over the limit.
Good luck!
