Southern CA - 2 rat boys need a new home

Hello all. Due to personal circumstances I'd rather not discuss, it's with a heavy heart that I must re-home my two adorable boys. They are brothers, 5 months old, both black, one dumbo and the other standard-eared. They are very sweet, very tame, have never bitten a soul and are very sociable. I am asking $20 for the boys, mostly to make sure they are NOT going as feeders. These boys are from a local, very nice breeder. If wanted, I will also include their cage, the Coast Cages Rat Mansion with solid metal wheel, and all accessories (water bottle, some toys, etc.) as well as a new, unopened large bag of CareFresh bedding for an additional $60. You're only getting rid of the rats, not your other animals? How strange.

The snake is likely going, too. Please try to understand that there is something very personal happening in my family and since the dogs are my parents' pets as much as mine and the fish are in my bedroom and in an aquarium, they are not affected in the same way the rats and the snake are. It is something very personal in my family and I hate to give up the boys, but I must. Please do not be rude to me about this, I would explain if I could but I do not feel inclined to air dirty laundry.

My boys are still looking for their new forever home. The situation is becoming desperate... if you have ever considered adoption, now is the time. These boys are so sweet and so tame and deserve a good home.

I wish I could help... my mom would freak if I tried bringing home rats, she's not thrilled about my mice... Good luck trying to find them a new home... are there private messages here? I have some rat-saavy friends who I might be able to talk to, but I don't know where in so cal you are...

I'll try to talk to them this weekend... I know they already have one rat, a female, i think, and i'm not sure if they have room for more, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
