We have lots of little animals in need of homes, as always! Take a look at our adoptibles list and visit our website at www.raleighrodentrescue.org to fill out an application if you are interested.
As the weather gets cooler, how about beginning a warm friendship?
Our fosters: These are the animals in our official foster homes where we strive to give them the very best of care, food, and vet attention.
Hamsters:
Cocoa: Beautiful syrian hamster with a gorgeous chocolate coat. Male.
Rats
Tuck and Mr. Pip: Sweet baby male rats. Tuck is hooded, Mr. Pip is all white. Little babies just ready to bond with you!
Garcia and Andy: Male baby rats, Garcia is all white while Andy is hooded. Both are friendly and anxious to have a family of their very own!
Templeton and Titan: 1 year old male rats. Templeton is the shier of the two, but not a biter. They are good about using a litterbox when they are out of the cage. Tempeton is a beautiful hooded, and Titan's marking are sort of a black and white marbeling. Very cute and handleable. They're even used to having regular baths!
Herbie: (the Love Bug)--You only get to have a name this corny by being super sweet. This big, squishy rat boy is as cuddly as they come. He is just waiting for someone to lavish him with all the love he deserves.
Roberto This handsome juvenile male ratty was found as a stray and taken in by a good Samaritan. He is still a little shy, but is very social once he feels safe. This special guy deserves a home where he can get some TLC from someone willing to help him feel confident and secure.
Guinea Pigs/Cavies
Pig Pen and Fern Both of these sweet guinea pigs are abyssinians. Pig Pen is a neutered male agouti that loves to be petted and brushed. Fern is a young female agouti tricolor, and loves to cuddle. Fern is currently expecting babies any day now, and as a result this pair will not be available until after the babies are weaned in mid to late February. This special pair of piggies are certainly worth the wait!
Linus-- Linus is a young adult, neutered male guinea pig that would love to find a guinea pig companion or a home with enough attention to give a single piggie.
Buddy--This playful guinea pig boy has personality plus! He is always ready for a scratch or a treat, and is quite a handsome little devil with a chocolate coat and a white mohawk!
Casper--Found by a good Samaritan in a plastic box behind a dumpster, this sweet guinea pig fellow is ready to move beyond his humble beginnings to a better life. Could you be the one to show him how good life can be?
Chinchillas
Bruce Lee: Chinchillas are cute, playful, energetic and sassy! They need a lot of out of cage free time and can be a bit messy (they love to kick stuff out of their cages) but you'll never meet a cuter little guy with quite the ability to inspire giggles of joy! Chinchillas are delicate, so they aren't recommended for small children. Bruce is a sweet male who likes to "box".
Animals Not Yet In Foster Care
These animals are up for adoption, but are in their original homes or with a good Samaritan who is helping them out, instead of being in our foster program.
Rats
Jerry, Carl, and Lionel A trio of shy but sweet adolescent male rats. They'd like a home with lots of time and attention to give them! Jerry needs someone who will help him come out of his shell.
Pair of Hairless Rats Cute little rats, totally bald! These girls want a fun (and warm!) home. They are a little shy, so they'd appreciate someone who is patient and doesn't mind doing a little socialization.
Sweet White Rats Who can resist a baby? Several 2 boys, 1 girl available.
Rabbits: Note, we do not generally foster rabbits. We do not have the resources for their foster care. If you have a rabbit in need, please visit the links page to contact groups that specialize in rabbits.
Banda and Cotton
A sweet pair of rabbits looking for a home together. Spayed, neutered, housetrained. One's a mini rex, the other, a plain rex.
