Anyone have any suggestions for guinea pig toys? Safe, chewable ones of course..here are mine:

Toilet paper tube(cut lengthwise down the middle so pigs head can't get stuck) stuffed with Timothy Hay

Mirrors-the kind made for budgies/parrots

Cat ball with bell inside

Big PVC pipe to hide in (mine is big--6" in diameter)

Bamboo rings with bell on the end (made for parrots)

Important to remember..inspect all toys regularly to check for broken bits, especially anything plastic, we don't want piggies choking!!

Hello,

I have my toilet roll hanging in the middle of the cage. And my pig will use his head to push the roll. I think it is entertaining for him, as the roll is hung up, just slightly above his head. And he gets really curious about it.

I also hang corns and carrots up too! Although he might have a difficult time eating it, but i think it is a good exercise for him too, if not i always see him laying down or just standing still eating. http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif

I give him some small bowls for him to play. He loves to pick them up and throw them aside, and then pick them up again and throw again. Amusing...

There are a couple of cloths for him too. He loves to hide under the cloth, as if playing hide-and_seek. They are his blankets.

Great topic, Trin!

Hello,

I have tried the toilet rolls stuffs with timothy hay! My boy was so amazed with it! I think he is more interested in the hay than the roll. lol.

It was a great idea for a toy for guinea pigs.

Do let me know if your girls are interested in any of the "toys" which i posted.

My little pig loves to play with his water bottle. He loves to play with the ball-bearing in the water bottle. He uses his little tongue or sometimes his teeth to try to bite the ball-bearing. At first, i was rather worried why he is so thirsty, but i realised that it is the ball bearing that he loves to play. I saw that the newspaper was soaked with water. He is not drinking, but playing. http://petshub.com/ubb/smile.gif

Very extremely noisy when he plays with the ball bearing.

I am going to try the toilet roll filled with timothy hay too.
