just wanted to see if anyone else's syrians do this - been watching her all day lol as cant play with her yet!
- she kinda pulls the poop out of her bum and then throws it away from her. luckily she lives in a bin cage lol!
- when she pees she sticks up her tail and kinda cocks her leg like a dog lol (bin cages rule again lol)
- she likes to sleep out in the open, not in her igloo or in a corner with bedding.
she's very cute, seems very active and playful :)

I haven't ever seen mine pull it out of them, but they do clear bits of unwanted poo away by the exact same method you describe!
My boys tend to wee in the same place, quite amusing when they are a little desperate, infact I hadn't seen Binkle move that quick in a long while when he was breaking his neck for a pee the other day!LOL!
Hamsters are definately quirky little creatures, but don't let them fool you, under all that fuzzy lovliness beats the heart of a ruthless killer:) LOL!

she might have been doing that with the poop, i cant get a good look as she's all bent over lol! she seems to like peeing right under her water bottle.

I haven't owned a Syrian, but my dwarf does the poop thing. And what she's doing sounds normal.

Yes I have rescued some degus now, we ended up with 5, I explain it all in the thread 'My thread disappeared????' in the Degu forum. I just wish I could've taken more.
I came home to tragedy, my gerbil jet was sick, so I rushed him to the vet, but he didn't make it through the night:( There are a couple of posts in the Gerbil forum.
Right now i'm looking at his gerbil mansion, which is empty, but I'm sure at some stage down the line we will rescue another little baby or two that will be grateful of such a lovely house, that was owned by such a wonderful little boy(he was a rescue also:) )
Sorry! I appear to be rambling!!!
