Just did a google search.. NO an imac fantasy is not the appropriate cage for a Syrian hamster. None of those tube connecting cages are suitable at all for Syrian hamsters.

As for bins, I reccomend them! I use them! SO a bin would be fine! The larger the better. I don't live in the U.S, so couldn't tell you where to find one at!

Hey there, its not true that you cant get a cage with tubes for syrians. Alot of us use them here in the US and I always have syrians and i have NEVER had a syrian get stuck in a tube. The only prob with the Imac fantasy is that there isnt enough space with just one you would need to get two to connect together because syrians need a lot of space. A bin cage would also work fine as well. Its a matter of preference what type of cage you like or want. Let us know what you decide and good luck. O and just fyi i have had both bin cages and cages with tubes and i have even connected them together so the crittertrail was connected to the bin cage.

Honestly, those tube cages a WASTE of money. You get very little space for a lot of money. For 10-12$ you can make a very large cage for your critter using a large bin, and some wire mesh. For almost 60$ or more you can buy two tube cages, and connect them.

I guess its your choice! ;)

im in the uk and i use bin cages too, they're great. you can get them from any random cheap shop like "right price" or your local pound shop usually.
if you like the tube cages because you can have different rooms attached together, just buy some tubing (i use rotastak) and connect a few bin cages together by cutting holes in the sides. i've tried this and it works great :)
i keep my syrian and my dwarfs in bin cages, they can have really deep wood shavings to dig in without it getting messy :) they love them
