We all hate posting these ones :-(
My sweet little silver pearl syrian Rocky passed away Saturday night. i'm still a bit shocked and confused as i'm not entirely sure why.
She was 2 and half which is just over 2 years since she crawled into my heart and home and 18 months older than nay vet thought she would live to.
She got diagnosed with cushings at 6 months old, and was probably the smartest hamster i;ve ever been lucky enough to be owned by; she knew lots of tricks including giving me "hammie kisses" which i am going to miss so bad and she knew how to come when she was called. she never got into any real mischeif like my other ham babies... never chewed up any carpets or couches... and was just amazing.
i dont think she suffered... she certainly wasnt ill... in fact she spent most of the day out of her cage playing, which wasnt that unususal for her, and she nicked all her favourite tsnacks of my plate and charmed lots of treats out of me. i just came home saturday night to find her collapsed in her cage... nothing was disturbed and couldnt have fallen so i think it was just a heart attack or stroke :(
i feel so guilty for not being there :-(
i didnt even get round to posting any p[ictures of her... i think maybe i'll start a memorial thread at some point where everyone can tell stories about their former ham bams... even the ones who came long before digital cameras lol
i really hope there's a hamster heaven where she can make friends with my other babies :(
RIP Rocky and thanks for making life so much sweeter x
