i was watching ferret settling in after i cleaned her cage today, and noticed when she began to gnaw something, that one of her bottom teeth is about 2ml shorter than the other. do you think she chipped it on something? i dont think her teeth are too long, and she has plenty of gnaw sticks and wooden and cardboard toys to destroy. she doesnt seem to be in pain, and she's still eating, drinking and gnawing fine, does anyone think this tooth is a problem? should i take her to the vet and get the other one trimmed to the same size? or does she just gnaw lopside-edly?!
any opinion would be great thanks. she's a syrian btw!

Our older hams are well over 2 now, but on the odd occasion, they have had teeth that were different lengths!
Ferret probably gnawed at something and took a bit of tooth off, hamster teeth can break easily, that's why it's difficult to cut them as they crumble (or so the vet told me:) )

i wouldnt worry about it. just as long as she can eat and drink fine. hamster teeth are constantly growing hence why they need things to chew to keep them down so it will eventually be equal to the other. i would only worry if she seems in pain or cant eat b/c of it.

My ham Vash would chew on the bars of his cage when he saw me (so I would pet him or give treats) so his teeth looked like fangs.

Yeah i latter had him in a bin cage but I had cage bars attached to the front since he enjoyed climbing them so much.
