well, ferret's new wheel finally arrived today - this hamster takes a lot of pleasing! well, of course an 11" wheel is too tall to fit in the current cage, so off i went to get a huge storage bin, one of the under the bed ones on wheels. well she gets into her new home and is crazy about this wodent wheel, she runs non-stop for ages (despite being annoyed i woke her up lol). she's now sleeping right behind it to protect it lol! so cute!
i should give her a day to settle into a new cage right? i dont want to stress her out!

Awww. Yeah when I first got chino he did the same thing, and he ran on his wheel non stop, and slept IN it to "protect it". But now hes stopped.

well. last night ferret escaped from her new cage. did she leave the room - no! did she play in the wardrobe - no! did she climb up on the bed and tickle my face with her fur at 3 in the morning - o yes! lol, i sleep in pitch blackness, i was like "huh, what's going on, do we have mice??" grabbed my mobile, saw silly ferret sat on my pillow watching me.
silly ferret! cant believe she climbed up my bed and found me!! put some rocks on her cage lid and she didnt escape again, thank god!
lol :)

AWwww pinkpink! My robo's also do that when they escape! They always manage to find me and sleep next to the bed under my shirt until I wake up and put her back :p And ONCE I found one of them sleeping next to my CAT! My cat is so weird, she has no issue with them and has no intention on eating them or killing them :p

lol that is so cute! so i put something heavy on the lid and she did it AGAIN last night! how is she doing this? the mind boggles! she cant even reach the lid, and there are no holes in her cage! this time she was on my hands at half 3! i dont think she does it coz she wants me to put her back in her cage, as she stuggles to escape when i pic her up and take her back!
plus it's not safe for her up here when im asleep, i roll around loads, as does my boyfriend, she could easily be crushed!

lol! yup, i was like what is going on??? well same thing happened last night, i actually retrieved her 3 times as she was climbing onto some boxes onto the radiator (dont worry our heating isnt on anymore), then sat there making the odd squeak coz she couldn't get back down! i actually had to leave class thismorning to throw up (in the summer if i dont get enough sleep for a few days i throw up - weird)!
i also had to retrieve her as she was destroying the carpet, which is bad for her, and after a few times she started chittering real loudly at me! she was not happy! so she is free roam right now, so i can keep an eye on her, and tonight she will have my text books on her lid - i can barely lift them so if she can i will be very impressed! going to get some mesh and hardcore screws to sort out her lid tommorow, and then there will be NO MORE ESCAPES!GRRR!

what did you want to see pics of jackie? im usually asleep when she's making her escape! and my boyfriend is asleep too so i cant really take pics with flash on school nights!

lol i just read through this thread its pretty funny! its good she doesnt get any further than you though! if my hamster escaped she wouldnt have far to go as shes on my top bunk bed (as we sleep on the bottom n no1 uses the top) My gfs hamster on the other hand... when she was a youngen (shes 2 n a half now) managed to escape when her flatmate left the door open (they lived in a house together nr uni and shared the ham but emma got to keep it) as she was stoned, so emma got home and was going to get her out and realized the top door was open so figured becky must of got her out so she went over and asked and she said no but she'd had her out!! she'd left it open!!! so they shut all their doors and put biscuits around on the floor turned out nxt day they found her as a biscuit had been eaten in the kitchen lol she was living under the fridge lol!!! she was fine tho she was like hiya what ya doin? lol she stored food for the nxt week in her pouches just incase she went on a adventure in the nr future lol!!

lol a determined ham (or mine anayway) would jump off that bed! i keep all my hams in my room for that reason, no matter how loud they are, i wouldnt want a stoned/drunk flatmate playing with my hams, and losing them / hurting them / feeding them weed etc. my flatmate seems to find it amusing to occasionally feed her rats sherbert, as it makes them act like they're on speed. needless to say i dont like her - treating animals this way is unacceptable to me.
