He's kept in my bedroom with the other 2 hammys. I'm not sure if he was up late last night when we went to sleep but i didnt go til about 3am. any help? thanks!

Is he in a cage with the other hamsters? He'll need some time to adjust and become comfortable with his new surroundings. Just make sure he knows where the food and water is. If he's with other hamsters, they will sort of "show him the ropes" and he will learn where everything is by watching them. He might have ate and drank while you guys were asleep.

Just watch him and try to see him drink or eat. You'll know if he's not, because he'll look dehydrated or lose weight. Good luck.:)

hes on his own.. we havent had a russian hamster b4... its kind of hard to tell if he is as hes out n back in like a shot lol.... im also worried about his water bottle, i have a critter trail x cage and a delux water bottle the tube is bigger for him 2 grab onto but i dont know if its 2 high id of thought it wasn't (as it hangs through a hole at the top of the cage) as you'd think they'd make it usable for the hammys.

Yeah, they are quick little things, aren't they? :) Try lowering the water bottle. But don't move the food or water, because if he did already find them, it would make him confused if you move them. Let him adjust a little more and then if you are still worried, try giving him a little sunflower seeds when you see him, or try sprinkling his feed around his cage (still keep some in his bowl).

Good luck and keep us posted :o

new hams take a while to settle in, mine were more interested in hiding for a while before bothering about food and water. so i wouldnt worry. how high up exactly is the water bottle, like a measurement? and is the dwarf fully grown?

Oh, now I get what your saying. Try putting a rock underneath the water bottle so that the hamster can reach it. If all else fails, get a new water bottle and attach it to the side.

Good luck :o
