Today my cats eyes have been rolled back in her head! You can still see about half of her eyeball, but the rest is just white! She has done this before but it was barely even noticable. What is wrong?!

I believe it is her third eyelid. It is also on both eyes not just one.

It is probably her third eyelid covering part of her eyes.

Typically, seeing the third eyelid like that is a sign of illness or trouble. I'd suggest a vet appointment to have her checked out.

I would take her to the vet asap!

She appears to be in no pain at all and it doesn't seem to effect her vision much. We will try to get her to the vet monday, but is there anything I should do until then? Could it be something like Haw's or Horner's Syndrome?

It is a possibility. Are her eyes sort of drooping? I read it doesn't really affect their vision and its not painful. I'd take her to a vet anyways just to make sure thats what it could be and nothing more serious. I think they can get her eyedrops if it is Horners Syndrome.

We have a vet appointment this afternoon. I will update shortly.

We took the cat to the vet and it was her third eyelid. The vet says when the third eyelid shows like that, it is usually a sympton of some kind of sickness. The vet checked her over and she is not sick but they do not know what caused her eyelid to not retract back down. They gave her some eyedrops that she get twice a day for a week. She has a follow-up next week to see how things are going. I will keep updating everyone on her progress.

Thanks to all who responded to this thread!!

The vet gave us some pills for the cat at the recheck. She said that the antibiotics would help the eyelid go up a little faster.
