My cat is at the vets right now. He is severely dehydrated & has a blockage. He eats hay sometimes from my bunny's cage. Now my other cat is throwing up spit & I'm really scared. The vets aren't sure what's wrong so they want to do a $600 surgery. We can't afford that. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Why do you have pets if you cannot afford vet care? If one of my animals needed a $600 surgery and I didn't have money saved up in a savings account for emergencies I would find some way to get it. I would borrow money or take out a loan.

Anywas it could have been something he ate but I can't imagine hay that a bun eats causing a blockage, my cats use to eat my buns hay to when I had bunnies.

It could be anything, I am not a vet and I haven't seen your cat so its hard to say.

Are ur cats indoor only? up to date on vaccines? It can honestly be any number of things.

I know what you mean about not having the money. My cat needed a blood transfusion and the total bill was $400+. Our vet was great about it. We paid installments. If any of my animals needed surgery I would pay the $ no matter the cost, unless it was really bad and they didnt really have a chance. I hope your cat does well.

Whoa, calm down. I'm 15 years old. My family is going to suffer a loss but come up with the money.

It turns out my cats ate string & it was wrapped around their intestines. They had surgery & now they're recovering.

Eek! Good thing it is OK. Was it sewing string, though?
