Hi all I'm a new member and I was wondering if someone could help me out. I was wondering if there is anything special that I need/can put in my birds cage to assist her in building her nest? Or does she line it with her own feathers (as I have been led to believe)? I am only new to breeding birds and any help would be appreciated :D Oh by the way I am in Australia.
Thankyou

dont get into breeding business if u know nothing about it, u have to know the bird's genes, know a lot about taking care of babies, and plus it can cost u a lot of money if they get sick.

Hello, Im also in Australia and have a small aviary with perhaps 17 budgies...Not the best way to breed budgies as there is little control over what colors etc are produced. However its such a delight.
Im curious though, as i have a pair of green budgies which have produced blue and grey babies...in this round, one is a blue and white pied..(i think thats what its called)..does that mean she had mated with a blue bird to? (Theres a blue and white male in the
aviary).
Also re nesting material..some people do provide
nesting materials, fine sand, whatever...or wood shavings but i didnt, just nesting boxes. They are
about ten dollars from pet shops.
Sorry for the amateur advice, its so pleasurable to care for birds and to watch them breed and do well..
one of natures gifts..
