How can't you ride?
That's such a shame that you had to part with them.

I stopped riding when I was 12, I was bucked off...I flew in the air, and landed on hard dirt..and my instructor had to run in and calm the horse down (I forgot his name). They put a 12 year old newbie on a retired race horse..not a good combination. I would love to start riding again.. i go to the stables sometimes still on occasion (Its right by my house), and I hang out with the horse and goats, and dogs. Its fun. I actually want to see if maybe they would let me do hands on things with the horses, and work my way up to riding again. (They charge 20$ a month for lessons..which is pretty cheap lol).

I used to ride nutter horses for other people that were too scared to get on them (sometimes i'd have upto 15/day)...i did a lot of damage to myself falling, getting kicked, rolled on, stomped on etc *L*. I shouldn't ride at all anymore...but i'm sure i will at some later date *L*...i just love em.
I had to sell my horses when i moved from our farm to a city interstate. I'll get another some day maybe, but i want a Friesian, and they are hard to come by here. But i'm in no hurry really, gotta get me another piece of land before that can happen.
I'm not big on hiring a horse or going to a riding school to ride but thats just me i spose.

Someday I want to live on some acreage, and then I will have a couple horses. My plan is to have a lot of acreage, and then rescuing horses that will be put the death. I don't care if I don't ever get to ride them, as long as I know I saved ones in need.
Of course, this will be a long time from now.

lol Punky, $20 a month is a great price! You should definitely try to start riding again.
And also, it depends on the particular horse. We have had a few retired racehorses and they've all been sweeties and very bombproof....it really does depend on the horse.
Sorry all you guys can't ride though...maybe one day ;)

Yeah riding's fun. Cool I think you should rescue them.
All these girls at a STUPID stable my friends go to actually buy them because they didn't have them, they admitted it.
I hate that stable. I was there for my friend's birthday party riding and I was outraged by the STUPIDNESS.
A girl, who was a very bad rider, actually didn't train her horse. She left it at the stables and only visited it one hour a WEEK.
It was so untrained when she was trotting he took off and the teacher, who is dumb, just said softly:
'It's ok you won't fall off lean back and hold the mane.'
WTF! Well, she did fall off and I nearly laughed. I know I shouldn't have, it was rude but I did stick my tongue out at her Mum when she came over and SO HARD KICKED THE PONY.
WTF!
