Your tank is severely overcrowded. With fancy golds you're not supposed to keep more than 1 in a 30g tank. So, you should probably take back all but 1 fish.
What's going to happen now is these will become stunted and will have health problems.
They will also cause water quality issues.

I don't have any advice for ya, Foxyblink, but I guess you already got the answer to your question anyways. Why I am posting here is to tell Emily Rugburn that I love your avatar!! Bucky is such a funny cat!!!

Thanks! Bucky's hilarious, isn't he? Such a tough guy, but not really. LMAO!
Anyway, to the original poster, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stress you out. I hope you can find someone to take the extra fish.
It really does make a difference in their overall health. Have you ever seen a pond raised fancy gold? They are IMMENSE! I mean, really huge! Like, almost nightmare huge. LOL! And they are supposed to live 25 years, so putting them in an overcrowded tank fails them on several levels.

well i read in my goldfish book that if you have alot of space up top of the tank and an air pump with lots of bubbles you can put in about 3 goldfish in a 20 gallon and i only have 4 in a 25 gallon. so i dont think i'll have a prob but i'll still try to give some away thanks for your help.

That book is so wrong. I'm sorry to say so, but it is. If you visit forums that are dedicated to ONLY fish (Aquahobby.com is a good one) and ask on their goldfish forums what you should do, they'll give you advice similar to mine. Not that I'm the God of All Fish or anything like that, but I've done so much research and have helped so many people over the past several years, and have learned from experts from all over the world (thanks to the Internet) that I can tell when an article contains bogus advice.
I recommend creating a free membership at that site and asking around.
Many times the books are completely inaccurate, and fish fanciers are apalled by what is printed.
Your book doesn't take into account the waste goldfish produce, and it assumes you're OK with having the fish get stunted and not living very long. It also doesn't take into account that perhaps you'd actually like to see your fish reach their full size.
Believe it or not, many people don't really care, and view fish as nothing more than a "throw away decoration" and it doesn't matter when or how they die, because when the fish expire, they'll just go get more & keep doing the same thing over & over. I'm firmly convinced the author of your book wrote with those kinds of people in mind.
