As the title obscurely suggests, I went for a long walk today. I took pictures, and here they are ( With descriptions and info so you know what I am babbling about )
I went for a walk through the woods, up to a local beautyspot called Wychbury hill. Now....usually it is no problem getting out onto the hill, you just climb over the stile and there you are. NOT TODAY. Oh no. Clever farmer ...whoever, decided to park his 15 or so cows in the field ( which I am not entirely sure he is allowed to do since it is a public right of way ). Cows , not always known for their sense of genius, thought it would be a great idea to stand in a gaggle RIGHT NEXT TO THE STILE.

Well done. I like cows, but they have been known to turn on people and I wasn't in the mood to get trampled.
Some of these cows have horns....GREAT.

They also look demonic when caught in a camera flash...NICE.

I hurdled the gate a little further up the path it was next to a cow, but it was lying down and I figured that if the bugger wanted to have a go, it would have to get up first, which takes a bit of time at that size ,so I would have a decent headstart to leg it, if the beast became enraged at the sight of my fat ass clambering over the gate..
Here is Wychbury OBELISK! It was constructed by Lord Lyttleton back in 1758, along with a greek temple of Theseus ( just to show off his wealth basically , it was a fashionable thing to do at the time ) They are known as " follies " in other words, copies of ancient structures .

This is the graffiti on the obelisk, which has been there for years and years. Basically in the 1940's, the body of a woman was found in a tree in the woods, MINUS her head. The head was stuffed behind a brick in the obelisk itself.
The tree she was found in is a " wych elm " , and is still there today. She was believed to have been a german spy, I don't know if Bella was her real name, but that is what she has been called since it happened.
It is said her ghost still haunts the hill. Several peole have seen her ghost, and I once stood in the temple whilst my friend took a picture on her camera. Whe the pic came out, my face is totally overexposed, no features ,just.... blank white, yet NOTHING ELSE IN THE PICTURE IS. Also, in the top left corner of the pic is what looks like a greenish smoke, like cigatrette smoke, but green. THAT sure as hell wasn't there when we took the pic. VERY strange

The temple of Theseus. Also heavily graffitied inside, it was fully fenced off in the mid- late 90's because the roof is falling in.

Suggestive graffiti...I found it amusing ^^

And just to prove I survived the return journey back past the cows ( that one was still lying down so I made a bid for freedom ) here I am ( squinting from exertion and evil sunlight )
