Well, my sister is bringing home hamsters from work tonight. People brought them in (to the vet) b/c they didn't want them anymore. Everyone took two. Including my sister. From what I understood they're females *the vet thinks* and they're still young enough to be together. (they're Syrians BTW) Not quite sure how old they are now, but when do they reach the age where they have to be seperated? Pictures will be up ASAP. Probably not until tomorrow or the next day though. WHOO! There are currently six animals livingin my room (an all-time low) so I guess I'm adding to my "collection." Haha, not a collection, no need to worry people, definitely not a hoarder. ;) I currently have no hamsters as of now b/c my last two passed on quite a few weeks ago. Enough blabbering. I can't wait to see the little girls! ^_^ Oh. And my sister wanted me to ask if hamsters can have prednisone/cortisone? Apparently the vet gave a hamster that came into today one of those and my sister wasn't sure if hamsters could have that or not. Thanks guys! :p

YAY! More hamsters! :D

Do you have them now? How do you like them?

Sorry, I don't know about the prednisone/cortisone thing. Hopefully someone else does.

Good luck with them! :)

Grrrawr. So my sister tells me that two of their littermates, who one of her co-workers took, both died. And now, so did our's. I'm guessing they were all sick? We don't know with what though. :(

Oh, I'm so sorry... I guess they were just unhealthy. I hope you'll be able to have some more pet hamsters soon though. :)

awww sorry to hear bout the hammys but just for future very rare if syrians live together for more than 12 - 15 weeks by that time they are in there teenage stage very grumpy and sleep alot they will start fighting but not to roughly but they will get worse some are so bad that they will fight till one is dead but very rare and also very rare some will stay together for life, if you wanted a pair of hammys i woould go for the smaller mre sociable breeds like russians, chinese and roborovskii but so i hear that the lat ones are hard to come by :)
