Are Robo Hamsters good pets?
I know they "rarely bite" and "are gently" so "not for someone who would like a pet to cuddle" and "they are fast".

I'm not actually looking for one as a pet.
But it doesn't hurt to read up on things.. does it?;)
Anyway my sister saw some in the pet shop and is desperate for one. (Not allowed)

Robo's are great :) They definitely are the nuttier of the bunch. I love mine, and I doubt I'll be going back to a Syrian afterwards.
They are a blast to watch as they love to play and are typically up all around the clock(with naps in between). They are much harder to handle, so you wont be getting any cuddle time with these guys.
They do get in your hand and you can do the pass-the-hammy game with your hands. But don't put them down on the ground to run around unless they're in a ball. They'll zip so far off in the blink of an eye.

I lock my little ones in the kitchen in their balls and they run amok! It's funny, like some twisted form of bowling...just needs the pins :D

for their cage, they need a lot more "toys" and hiding spaces. They are super skittish, so it makes them comfortable to have lots and lots of interactions.

So the bottom line is, Robo's are a hoot to watch, but not to handle like a syrian. And even though they're small, I'd still say put them in a cage big enough for a syrian. Plastic bins are always the best!

From my experience, robos don't rarely bite..I get bitten all the time at work (But I suppose its different if they are raised in a pet store then in a breeder's home).

OT..how many threads are you going to make in a row?

I think why people say they "never" or "rarely" bite is because they do not let themselves be handled enough to bite anybody. Obviously, my syrian was always the easiest to handle, and never bit me. My campbell's only started to bite a few weeks before she died, and it's probably because she was losing her sight and I frightened her. My robo never bit me, because I rarely handled him, as he was extremely skittish (to use Robocop's word :)). And as Robocop said as well, robos are a lot of fun to watch, but if you want a hamster you can play with, then stick with syrians or the larger dwarves.
