help please

hey, i need some help. Basically my hamster somehow has managed to get a large lump ( im pretty sure it;s poo) surrounding his penis and tesitcles. I have tried to make it wet to take it off but i just can't get him to hold still. Im not very good at holding them by the scruff of the neck and his legs just keep kicking. is this common? how can i take it off?

Are you positive that it's something stuck to his fur and not an internal mass? Does he not regularly groom himself? If his matter was wet enough to stick to his bottom, that is definitely not a good sign.

well that's what seems strange because he has been doing hard poos so i don't understand why it has stuck. But i can feel the outside of it and it feels hard not like skin and also a bit of it came off and it looked and felt like poo.

This will seem strange but smell it. It doesn't SOUND like poo.

My suggestiong is if it is Poop like you think get your hamster to sit in some warm water.... if its poop it should start to go mushy and fall off. I've had to do this with my dad's dog once worked like a charm and since its poop it shouldn't matter what kind of animal.
