and I have a third Robo in a very retro looking cage :p Her cage is a LOT bigger than it looks. The wheel practically eats her :D

Aw, so sweet, lol:D
I LOVE your cages!!:)
I don't see how to attach tubes like that through a WIRE cage.. though, personally, I would - if - I could:(

I have a question about you bin cage... do your hamsters chew it up at all? My hamsters chew thier bars and Cotton has a BAD chewing habbit! nothing like my mothers gerbals but still its worse then my other hamsters. Your bin cage is a great idea!

no, they don't chew it up...I don't think I've ever encountered a chewing problem with bin cages. It's such thick plastic that I doubt any hamster would attempt to chew much at it, or be able to chew their way out without you noticing WAAAAY ahead of time.

but bin cages are fantastic. They are ridiculously easy to clean and offer lots of open space, plus are super cheap!

What's not to love about bin cages? :p

Yeah. I agree. I don't actually see how they could chew out?:)

I've got to stop coming on the hamster forums... I miss my hams more and more every day... and looking at those makes me miss my Robo. I would love to get 2 or 3 littermates. Even though I adore syrians, your Robo's remind me of Harvey so much and I would love to have them around again!

I'll keep my eyes out on Petfinder, see if any homeless hams pop up... even if they do, it will be extremely hard to convince my boyfriend to let me. He just doesn't get it...

I'm thinking that once I get some more time I'm going to make some of those bin cages... but I think thats going to be when we move to our bigger apartment in March/April. I'm going to start looking for pets on petfinder that need a new home... cause its nothing to have another 1 or 2 hams for me to take care of.

Just a FYI---My syrain hamster chewed through the roof of his sterilite bin cage a couple days ago. I went away for the weekend. Everything was fine. I come back and there's a long hole in the top of the cage. He didn't get out. He made it too long for him to fit through. I can fit 7 of my fingers through it though.

This was a short cage though. I have taller ones where he can't reach the top. I really need to find some wire mesh and top off the top and fashion a better top for those things. If only I had excess to a drill, cutter, and tools.

your hammy shouldn't be able to reach the roof of the cage :p

Ouch I bet that was a shocker... when Alfred was alive he got out of his store bought cage.... He was out for 5 hours we think. he was very luck cause we had two cats at that time. I'm glad your little guy didn't get out.

Nice cages! I have that retro looking one too,but my lil stinker chinese ham Rambo figured out how to escape lol. I found him all the way on the floor, his cage being on the top shelf! He didnt fall though,i checked him. I saw paw prints on the wall. So i switched him to a habitrail mini, made for mice, bars alot closer together. Hes happy plenty of room for a ham his size. Yah the retro is alot of room for a dwarf,my poor guy couldnt get the wheel to turn! Way too big for him lol. Anyways, cute hams, good cages.

lol...the only time mine ever escaped was when she could reach the top cage part. I think they can squeeze through them. They're so little! luckily my robo has a tiny bit more pushing power to get her wheel goin ;) haha.

Well I have a solitary Syrian.(As it should be)I prefer a large cage for them.I have a three level cage for "Milo" he loves it. SYrians are bored in plastic tanks, they love to climb the bars of the cage, keeps them active..

my friend made a bin cage for her Robos. but yours is fancy!!! My campbells have a three level wire Alcatraz (because I've had to make it so inescapable). the wire cage is the biggest area i can offer that fits in the space i have. a bin wouldn't offer as much room to explore. and they love their cage. lol. But yours is so cool!!
