At the PetSmart I work at we only have male animals (not counting animals like fish, reptiles, etc, but ALL male rodents). A customer came up to me today and said "Excuse me, but one of the hamsters keeps putting its babies on the wheel and they are flying off". I was in disbelief that one our "male" hamsters had babies, so I went over and checked..and sure enough, one of the campbell's had babies scattered all over the cage. I removed them, and the mother. This is the THIRD hamster in a month that has had babies over here..never had that problem before, so something is up! But as you've guessed..I took momma and babies home. Only me and one other person there likes rodents..and she took the other two mothers and babies to her house..so I took this one. There are 5-6 (I would need to do a better count).
I will get pictures when the mother is calm..and I can lift her little igloo up.
